Semplice allows you to add videos to your page with two options: with self-hosted module or oEmbed module. If you are not sure what works best, this guide is for you.
Self-hosted video
Self-hosted video modules are for hosting the video yourself, either through Wordpress or with an absolute URL link to a video file. Self-hosted videos should be uploaded as an .mp4 file.
Advantages: Self-hosted videos uses Semplice native player and you can enable options like auto-play, custom aspect ratio, loop video, mute video and hide video player controls straight from Semplice Content Editor. It can also be used as a background video.
Embedded video
Embeded video modules are for videos hosted on a third party such as Youtube, Vimeo, Wistia and JWPLAYER.
Advantages: Embedded videos will typically load faster than self-hosted videos. It also saves your hosting storage and bandwidth.
