Please note, that this feature is only available in Semplice 5. You can learn more about the features that are included in Semplice 5 here.
A very exciting feature new to Semplice 5 is the ability to add a displacement texture effect to your Cover sections.
Creating the cover section
The displacement effect is an option only available in a Cover section. More on how to use and create cover sections here.
Adding the Displacement Effect
In your Cover options, from the Cover Effects dropdown select 'Displacement Effect'.
Customizing the Effect
You have two modes for displacement maps: Move and Grow.
In Move mode, your displacement texture will move along a path to create the distortion effect. You have options to change the direction of the movement, as well as adjust the speed of the movement and the scaling of the image.
In Grow mode, the displacement texture will scale to create an image distortion. You have options to adjust the max growth amount, as well as growth speed and displacement sizing.
Pushing it further
The key to creating a great displacement map effect is to play around with the options and tweak them until you get a result that works for you.
Create your own displacement maps
You also have the option to create and upload your own displacement maps. We recommend using 2040x2040 grayscale images. For your convenience, we've created some to get started with here.
Have fun!
